Day 8: Dr. Seuss Day & Birthday Party

Oh, the places you'll go!

About Dr. Seuss we learned that he is American writer. We know some interesting facts: Dr. Seuss's real name is Theodore Seuss Geisel. He lived in Springfield, MA. Most ideas he got from his mother and grandmother. He wrote 44 books for children. Dr. Seuss's first book is Mulberry Street. The most popular book is The Cat in the Hat. That was published in 1957, and he sold about 1,000,000 copies of this book. -Polina T. & Elvis, NY

Happy Birthday!

Yesterday we had a lot of different games. In my opinion, the most interesting game is musical chairs with McKell. Unfortunately I left out (got out) first of all. Also yesterday we had cooking cupcakes with Kathy. That was nice and delicious. -Oleg, NY

Also yesterday I liked playing games with Zack. We needed to throw balls at three or two glasses. But the most simple game ways "Wave, Shark, Surfer." It's like Russian game, "Rock, Paper, Scissors." New York was fighting vs. California and New York won!

On July 5th we had a birthday party. There we played games with American teachers and they told us about birthday celebrations in USA. In Kathy's class we decorated cupcakes and in the end of the day all campers blew candles and sang "Happy Birthday to You." -Polina H., NY
